ORDINANCE 2024-07

AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH NEW COMMERCIAL SEWER USER RATES FOR THE CITY OF GASSVILLE WATER SYSTEM AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 

WHEREAS, upon a recommendation from the City of Gassville Water/Wastewater Committee and approved at a City Council meeting (Sept. 17) that new commercial sewer user rates should be established for commercial sewer customers of the system; and 

WHEREAS, a public hearing was duly advertised and held Tuesday, October 15, 2024, to hear any remonstrances regarding the proposed new commercial sewer user rates. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GASSVILLE, ARKANSAS: 

SECTION 1. COMMERCIAL SEWER USER CHARGE RATES: 
The City Council of Gassville, Arkansas hereby finds and declares these new commercial sewer user rates to be fair and reasonable with the duties of the board regarding fiscal compliance per Act 605 of 2021. The following are the new commercial sewer customer rates established for the city of Gassville sewer system: 

     0-1,000 gallons..................................... $ 10.00
     Per thousand gallons thereafter ........    $ 7.27

SECTION 3. SEWER DEPOSIT FEE (NON-WATER CUSTOMERS): 
All non-water customers of the City of Gassville water system (commercial or residential) shall be required to pay a sewer deposit fee of $100.00 (one-hundred dollars) for sewer service. 

SECTION 4. RATE STUDY. 
These new commercial sewer user rates having been established by the City Council shall be subject to review in accordance with Act 605 of 2021 including necessary depreciation and operation and maintenance (inflation) needs for the system.
