Gassville has the amenities of a larger city while retaining a hometown, community atmosphere. People often choose Gassville for convenience. US Hwy. 412/62 runs directly through the town, providing quick access for commuters.

The town has a thriving economy with the largest manufacturer, American Stitchco, employing over 90 persons at its Gassville location. A variety of businesses serve Gassville residents and visitors including grocery and discount stores, service businesses, banks, and many types of restaurants.

Gassville provides the quality of life and services that are not necessarily expected of a city its size. Gassville has a police department with five full-time officers and two part-time officers; a volunteer fire department with a full-time chief and twenty-three volunteer firemen; and a Public Works staff of eight who maintain the city water system, streets, city parks, and wastewater treatment facility.
